Everyone has a family of some kind. Some people were raised by a single mom or a single dad. Some grew up with step parents or half siblings. Some were even raised by grandparents or adopted parents. There are all kinds of combinations when it comes to families, and there is no single type of family that is better than any others.

I am a big advocate of everyone's right to love and marriage. However, I'm a little unsure on the topic of artificial insemination when it comes to gay and lesbian couples choosing to have children. My reason is this: natural consequences. I'm not talking about religious consequences, societal consequences or what have you but purely natural consequences. I believe that gays and lesbians are naturally the way they are--it's no fault of their own, it's not made up, or any of those other bogus explanations. But with that being nature, doesn't it seem a little strange to change nature to impregnate a lesbian woman who, unlike heterosexuals who simply were likely unaware they could not have children when beginning their relationship, a same-sex couple is certainly (and likely, painfully) aware? I'm not saying it's wrong, but I would argue that it's a tad strange when you think about it.
